Second Sunday Spoken Word is the first and only regularly scheduled monthly event devoted to the Spoken Word. We welcome all writers, including lyricists, to share their work on the second Sunday of every month. We believe in speaking out and are dedicated to giving people a voice. We are open to all readers, genres, and formats.

Schedule

3-5 pm Spoken Word – original poetry, fiction, and non-fiction

5-6 pm Singers, songwriters, and other acoustic musicians

Performers may sign up in advance by contacting Robin Lampman at: LampmanRobin @ gmail.com.  If there are open slots, you may add your name to the sign up sheet on the day of the event.

Spoken Word at Lighthouse Point Festival

Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 2 pm 
200 The Promenade at Lighthouse Point, Staten Island, New York 10301

  As part of the Lighthouse Point Festival on September 23rd at 2 p.m., the Staten Island Creative Community’s Spoken Word will present “Float Your Boat” inside the National Lighthouse Museum. Readers will present original writing about maritime visions, sea tales, lighthouses, oceans, puddles, and other things that “float their boats”. Poets and writers will include Dan Icolari, Joelle Morrison, Kevyn Fairchild, Rachel Sanchez, Tom Padovano, and Robin Lampman.
