Second Sunday Spoken Word is the first and only regularly scheduled monthly event devoted to the Spoken Word. We welcome all writers, including lyricists, to share their work on the second Sunday of every month. We believe in speaking out and are dedicated to giving people a voice. We are open to all readers, genres, and formats.

Suggested Donation $2


3-5 pm Spoken Word – original poetry, fiction, and non-fiction

5-6 pm Singers, songwriters, and other acoustic musicians

       Second Sunday Spoken Word Presents:

    When The Sun Shines Hot And The Wind Blows Cold

On Sunday, March 10th from 3-6- p.m. Second Sunday Spoken will meet again at Art on the Terrace for original readings followed by original lyrics. Participants will create a group poem as well which begins with the line from Great Expectations, “It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold”. Readers will include Phyllis Featherstone, Kristen Leyko, Maggie Buford, Susan Fowler, Douglas La Tourette, Steven Soloway, and Fritz Weiss. To top it all off, Phoebe Blue and The Make Baleaves will be there to sing and play for us.

Light refreshments will be served. Support for SICC programs is greatly appreciated.
