Second Sunday Spoken Word is the first and only regularly scheduled monthly event devoted to the Spoken Word. We welcome all writers, including lyricists, to share their work on the second Sunday of every month. We believe in speaking out and are dedicated to giving people a voice. Our next Second Sunday event:
Spoken Word Presents “Poetry the Audre Lorde Way”
On Sunday, July 14th at 3 p.m. poets, writers, and lyricists will gather again at Art on the Terrace for Second Sunday Spoken Word. July’s reading will feature Lisa Sloan’s discussion of how a street was recently renamed Audre Lorde Way after the internationally acclaimed Staten Island poet, Audre Lorde. Other poets and writers will include Kevyn Fairchild, Rebecca Ritz, Tyler Larsen, and participants in the Pride Youth Poetry Workshop.
The presentation and the workshop were made possible in part by a grant from SI Arts with public funding from the New York Council on the Arts.
